…“Obviously from the photos flying around, she indeed graduated from a Law program, an indictment on the degree awarding Institution which found her worthy in learning and character and a greater indictment on her because she cannot defend her education and has made the process through which she acquired her acclaimed certificate questionable.”
The emerging evidence and pictures backing the testimony of Anyim Veronica Nnenna as a graduate of Law from National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) and not false as accused by the Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr Paul Enenche has generated different reactions from online readers.
Reacting to the video, a Facebook user, Dr Orji Onyinyechi Lilian wrote:
“On Pastor Dr Paul Enenche & Vera Anyim”
“BSc in law?”
“How?”
“Thought “BSc” means “Bachelor of Science”, a title awarded to first degree university graduands in Sciences and to the best of my knowledge Law largely falls under arts/humanities.”
“The Law I know in Nigeria where she obviously schooled awards “LLB”, which I think translates to Bachelor of Law.”
“I didn’t know about the Enenche/Testimony embarrassment issue until now, but then I would immediately see anyone who claims to have a “BSc in law” and with a poor grammar and mastery of English language to go with it as a liar or imposter. Infact I would be furious, like how did you graduate without even knowing something as basic as the category of degree you are being awarded? How did you even pass Jamb and Putme examinations to get the admission? What did you do in your 5 years of study? Who vetted you and certified you fit to be a lawyer?”
She said, “How can one graduate from Law, a discipline which deals majorly on arguments and proper communication, with such a poor command of English, the language of official court proceedings here in Nigeria?”
“I don’t know about NOUN but for most of the regular higher Institutions in Nigeria, I know the cut off mark for Law is so high, almost like Medicine and Surgery and to get that much high average in the entrance exams where English and Literature are compulsory subjects, you need to have atleast high level of intelligence and a certain mastery of English language. It’s difficult for you to even see a fresher in law speaking poorly talk more of a law graduate who spent 5years studying courses like Law of Thort etc speaking that badly.”
“Most lawyers I know are so good in English Language, most often than not, they write so well too. Infact knowing how to speak and write in English Language is a sure prerequisite to study Law.”
“I don’t want to say I am disappointed but then anyone who went through the four walls of a university in Nigeria knows this as basic truth so I am surprised some seemingly educated people are surprised at the Pastors reaction.”
“Have our standards become so low that we don’t see this woman as an outlier? A joke of some sort, an embarrassment to what education stands for? and instead of being outraged by her inability to defend her acclaimed certificate we are scrutinizing how or how not the Pastor should have handled his outrage or looking for inexistent proof to defend her.”
“Obviously from the photos flying around, she indeed graduated from a Law program, an indictment on the degree awarding Institution which found her worthy in learning and character and a greater indictment on her because she cannot defend her education and has made the process through which she acquired her acclaimed certificate questionable.”
“Infact Pastor Paul Enenche did no wrong, he did not insult or mock her, he only told her that she lied and who wouldn’t? Testimonies are no jokes, fake testimonies can tarnish not just the image of the Pastor but of God and the church. Obviously in reality anyone who seemingly graduated from law program without knowing the degree they graduated with will and should be rightly doubted.” She concluded.
