“Let us all join hands in cultivating a brighter future for our communities.”
Three days after burying his brother in-law in Ufuma, Anambra State, in a massive ceremony, Dr Pat Asadu launches his free Agricultural Support Program to combat food insecurity and empower local farmers in Nsukka/Igbo-Eze South Federal Constituency, Enugu State.
The former member of the House of Representatives, who represented Nsukka/ Igbo-Eze South for four uninterupted terms has launched a groundbreaking entry into farming and agricultural support to the needy in his constituency. Dr Asadu, a Medical Doctor and a first class Lawyer who served once as the commissioner for Agriculture in Enugu State is venturing in a big way into fisheries, poultry, ranching and other animal production for both the Nigerian and international markets.
He is also making significant ongoing investments in various crop farms to enhance food security in Nigeria, Africa, and worldwide.
He has done it, but as always; not going into farming for himself and his family alone. He is carrying his beloved people along as he usually does!.
Dr Asadu has acquired and is preparing large tracts of agricultural lands in and around Abuja; the Federal Capital Territory, Enugu State, Lagos and in Uyo of Akwa Ibom States as a first phase.
He used the launching to plead with his friends and associates to embrace farming as the next big business in Nigeria.
This innovative initiative involved sharing bags of fertilizers, sharing of hybrid and improved seedlings and cash to enhance agricultural productivity and food security for the beneficiaries. He sponsored a team of Agricultural experts to teach his people how to maximize the opportunities in this endeavor.
In an exclusive interview with Xpariso Media team, Dr. Asadu emphasized that this program aims to enrich the rural Farmers, encourage them into sustainable agriculture and enhance food security.
The program’s impact is already being felt, with hundreds of farmers and households benefiting from the shared improved seedlings and fertilizer support. Most of these farmers have already planted these seedlings in accordance with the training they received while heaping more prayers on Dr Asadu, his family and his agricultural team in Nigeria and beyond.
Dr Asadu has by empowering these farmers, moved them closer to a food-secure future for all.
“Let us all join hands in cultivating a brighter future for our communities!” Dr Asadu, pleaded.
