The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, has won the March 18 governorship election in the state. He scored 160,895 votes to defeat his closest rival, Chijioke Edeoga of the Labour Party (LP), who polled 157,552 votes. Former Governor of Enugu State, Senator Chimaroke Nnamani has lost his reelection bid in Enugu East Senatorial district to Labour Party candidate, Sir Kelvin Chukwu. The LP candidate polled 69, 136 to beat Chimaroke of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who scored 48,701 votes. An unspecified number of people have been injured after a passenger train has crushed a Lagos state government staff bus at PWD junction, Ikeja area of the state on Thursday.
