The Central Bank of Nigeria has revoked the banking licence of Heritage Bank Plc, effective immediately. This decision was made due to the bank’s failure to improve its financial performance, posing a threat to financial stability. The Academic and non-academic staff unions in Nigerian educational institutions, from basic to tertiary level, have directed their members to join the nationwide indefinite strike announced by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC). The Kogi State Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTEC) has declared a three-day mourning for two of its students who were killed in kidnappers’ den. The two victims, James Michael Anajuwe, a 100-level Information Technology student, and Musa Hussein, a 100-level Software Engineering student were among students kidnapped by gunmen who invaded the school on May 9, 2024.
