A Former Nigerian Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Tafa Mustapha Balogun, is dead. He died on Thursday at a hospital in Lekki, Lagos State after a brief illness. Suspected terrorists laid ambush on the personnel of the Elite Guards Brigade at the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory. The troops were said to have been ambushed during a patrol in the area. Three of the personnel were said to have been injured during the attack and are currently receiving medical attention.
