The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has issued a warning to a former Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission, Chidi Odinkalu regarding his opinion on the arrest of Idris Okuneye(a.k.a Bobrisky) by the Commission. The Kano State Government has dragged former governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, his wife, Hafsat Umar, Umar Abdullahi Umar and five others to court on eight count charges relating to bribery allegations, misappropriation and diversion of funds among others running into billions of naira. This was contained in a charge sheet dated 3rd April, 2024 with a 15 prosecution witnesses list attached, and obtained by SaharaReporters. President Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday, passed the Student Loans (Access to Higher Education) Act (Repeal and Re-Enactment) Bill, 2024, into law. This comes after separate considerations by both the Senate and the House of Representatives of the report of the Committee on Tertiary Institutions and TETFund. The Governor of Jigawa State H.E Umar Namadi has shared that there will be a subsidy of N1 million available for every person planning to go on a pilgrimage. On Monday, the spokesperson of the Jigawa Pilgrims Welfare Board, Murtala Usman, informed reporters about the latest progress.
