The Federal High Court in Umuahia, Abia State on Friday declared Section 84 (12) of the amended Electoral Act illegal and ordered the Attorney General of the Federation to delete the section. President Muhammadu Buhari had written the National Assembly asking them to delete the section as it would deprive political appointees of their right to vote and be voted for. The immediate-past governor of Anambra state, Willie Obiano, and his wife, Ebelechukwu Obiano, has been released from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) detention Willie Obiano after he completed his two-term tenure of eight years, spent his first night as the former Governor of Anambra State in the custody of the EFCC.
